Building requires an end-to-end view. The live link and content must be governed; the printed code must scan on the actual pack; production and quality processes must be documented; and any retail use must be tested in the intended point-of-sale or operational environment. During the transition, an EAN or UPC barcode and a GS1 Digital Link QR Code may appear on the same pack, so placement and scanning tests should reduce the risk of unintended double reads.
