Move from planning to practical action

Select a focused pilot, prepare the foundations and create your first tested GS1 Digital Link QR Code.

Welcome to Activator

You may be at the Activator stage if your organisation is ready to move from discussion and planning into a first practical implementation. You have a reason to act, an initial use case and people who are prepared to take ownership. The goal is not to transform every product or process at once. It is to choose one useful outcome, prepare the foundations and create a working implementation from which the organisation can learn.

Good implementation begins before a QR Code is added to artwork. You will need to confirm the correct GTIN, decide what the code should connect to, prepare the relevant information and links, select an appropriate platform or partner route and test the result. Packaging, print, quality, digital, commercial and retail teams may all need to contribute. Keeping the first implementation focused will make these decisions easier to manage.

This page will help you turn the plan into a first tested code and connected experience. By the end of the stage, you should have a confirmed product identity, an approved link destination, prepared content, a selected implementation route, a tested digital code and a clear plan for printing or piloting it in the intended environment.
